On April 3, 2019 Dr. Patrick Stewart, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Arkansas, gave a lecture to Lewis students entitled “Smiles of the 2020 Presidential Candidates: Broadening and Building Followership.” His research examines how various politicians’ smiles influence voters and how they can build support for their candidacies using data from past elections as well as examining the various candidates in the 2020 presidential campaign. This lecture was founded by an activity grant from Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science National Honor Society, in Washington, DC.
